Hi, I’m Natasha, the founder and principal creative at The Chi Studio. This is the first of what I hope will be many journal entries, a way for us to connect as I share the journey, the inspiration, and the life behind The Chi Studio.
In so many ways, this brand is a reflection of my life here in Goa. The pieces I create are those I long to find but rarely can: clothing that blends ease and sophistication, balancing comfort with minimalist beauty. From fabrics that breathe to designs that bring joy, everything at The Chi Studio embodies the effortless, serene style I seek in life.
So, it feels fitting that my first blog post dives into how I wear The Chi Studio IRL (for those wondering, “IRL” means “in real life”—a little Gen Z lingo for you!). Recently, my husband surprised me with a dreamy beachside staycation for my birthday. The resort was uber charming, the weather was sweltering, and with our first real beach day of the season ahead, my packing list needed all the essentials: beach-ready, chic, and comfortable.
Packing Essentials: The Chi Studio Way
After five years of living in Goa (I count my lucky stars daily!), my wardrobe has some non-negotiables. First, breathable, light fabrics—essential when living in high humidity. Then, versatile silhouettes that are easy to throw on post-salty swims or in peak sunshine; ones that will take you from day to night, relaxed to refined.
Every piece we create must pass my personal checklist: the "sweat, style, and sustainability test." And this birthday weekend, I can proudly say my Chi Studio pieces served me well!
Staycation Ready: Easy Elegance
For our two-hour drive and check-in, I chose our Deck Shorts with a crochet polo. These shorts are so underrated: crafted from textured, medium-weight handwoven cotton, they feature a feminine, bloomer-inspired silhouette with a paper-bag waist and tassel details. Trust me, the online photos don’t do them justice (le sigh!).
We wasted no time heading to the pool, where I slipped into our Go With The Flow Dress. This breezy, lightweight fabric kept me cool while the airy silhouette made it ideal for post-swim wear (seriously, it dries you off underneath). Plus, it’s chic enough to wander around the resort or go for a beach-side stroll in style.
We decided to order room service (always a staycation highlight!) and celebrate with pizza, wine and cake (name me a better combo, ill wait), for which I took our new sleepwear set for a test run (shhhhh….sneak peek just for you!).
The next morning’s breakfast look was a quick switch-up, pairing the PJ set’s boxer shorts with a cute baby tee.
And for poolside lounging? The La Piscine Shirt was an obvious choice (back in stock soon!)—perfect as a post swim cover-up too!
Before check-out, we took a scenic walk to lunch, squeezing in a few family photos along the way. And yes, he wore the same shirt I had on earlier. I always say, "It’s a boyfriend shirt your boyfriend will want to steal!"
I went for a tonal look, re-wearing the Deck Shorts with our Breathe Easy Blouse—my favourite pairing from the first collection, effortlessly chic and timeless!
We wrapped up our staycation both in The Chi Studio pieces, embodying everything the brand stands for: quietly sophisticated, sustainable, and designed for real life.
